Headed to Disney Springs? You may want to consider reservations at The Edison. Located in The Landing section,  The Edison is a dining experience like no other! Restaurant, bar, and live entertainment… it has it all.

Ambiance

The eatery is themed as an abandoned 1920s industrial power plant, with 35-foot tall ceilings and gothic/steampunk décor. There are seven uniquely themed dining areas: The Ember Parlour, The Lab, The Patent Office, The Radio Room, Telegraph Lounge, The Tesla Lounge, and the Waterfront Patio.

[See image gallery at offstagewdw.com]

Food

When it comes down to it, the food is the most important part of the experience. The Edison crafts classic American cuisine with eccentric flair!

[See image gallery at offstagewdw.com]

Cocktails

Come for the food, stay for the drinks!

[See image gallery at offstagewdw.com]

Entertainment

The food, drinks, and atmosphere are often enough to make a dining experience enjoyable, BUT here is where The Edison shines- entertainment! While family-friendly entertainment is offered during the day, nighttime, kid free, is the best time to visit. Aerialists, dancers, magicians, stilt walkers, and more, all while you dine & enjoy drinks.

Whether it is for a first time visit, a date night out, or drinks with friends, consider adding this extraordinary dining experience to your next visit! When you walk into a park, the entire atmosphere lifts you up! A big part of that is the BGM- that’s Imagineer speak for “Background Music.” It is another way guests are immersed into the park’s story. One of my favorite things to listen to while working on this fun blog, is Disney ambience music. I can’t help but dance and feel like I am at the park. I wanted to share with you some of my favorites!

*I do not own any of the videos nor am I affiliated with them- I am just a fan!

Magic Kingdom

This one is my all time favorite! It features music from all the lands at the park. It’s my go-to work mix.

Another wonderful mix with stunning park pictures. This is for when I am reallllly needing a dose of Disney magic.

Epcot

This EPCOT Mix has everything from attractions to the BGM played in each pavilion.

Jonesing for the World Showcase? Here is BGM for the just the pavilions.

Living with the Land! This one gets put on repeat

There is something so peaceful about a soft rain fall. Mix that in with the Tree of Life BGM and you can quickly unwind from any stressful day!

Here’s the master mix for the park and each land/attractions.

Hollywood Studios

Enjoy the Golden Age themed music of Hollywood Boulevard!

For when I am feeling nostalgic.

After a soft opening in December 2020, and a brief closure period (that sent everyone into a panic!), Gideon’s had their official grand opening January 16th. Long lines and a virtual wait time of 12 hours, demonstrates the utmost yumminess of the Bakehouse! Here is everything you need to know about Gideon’s:

The origin of the bakery name is a sad but heartwarming story! The bakery’s creator, Steve Lewis, purchased an antique cookbook published from 1898. Inside, he found doodles from a little boy named Gideon, who long dreamed of becoming a baker. When Steve conceptualized his bakery, he knew he had to pay tribute to that sweet little boy. He named his bakery, Gideon’s Bakehouse™ and filled the shop with curios antiquities, aging books, and eclectic Victorian art.

They opened in October 2016 with only $800, no investors, one employee, and a small 286 sq ft shop in East End Market, Orlando.

Within weeks they began earning the title “Best Cookies in Orlando.”

Gideon’s opened it’s second store, and flagship location, in Disney Springs, on January 16, 2021.

Let's Talk Cookies

Gideon’s has a 6 cookies per person limit. That sounds silly, but since that is equal to almost 3 pounds of cookies…it is probably a good thing!

The insanely mouthwatering cookies are quite complicated to make, sometimes taking over 24 hours!

They are sold on a first come basis.

The early bird gets the cookie! The later the day, the greater chance of the limited edition items being gone.

No freezer items here! All goods are 100% handmade from scratch.

Their cookies are pretty hefty. Must be all that gooey goodness!

They have very high standards and will not ship. (Excuse me, I must go cry now)

They have crafted an intriguing story about the history of the building they occupy at Disney Springs. Be sure to ask about it when you visit them.

How I love Thee, Even If Only For a Season

Check out the seasonal selections

And Let Them Eat CAKE!

What’s better than a massive gooey cookie? A massive delectable piece of cake. You can order them by the slice:

Each slice is three layers with thick layers of buttercream between.

[See image gallery at offstagewdw.com]

Why limit yourself to a slice when you can have the ENTIRE CAKE!!!!

[See image gallery at offstagewdw.com]

While you cannot preorder any cakes at the Disney Springs location (yet), it was totally worth drooling over the photos.

That's Not All Folks

In addition to their baked goods, Gideon’s also serves up some sweet drinks.

They have assorted merch for the entire family.

And be sure to follow them on social media to learn about sold out items, secret cake slices, and general up to date info.
