Headed to Disney Springs? You may want to consider reservations at The Edison. Located in The Landing section,  The Edison is a dining experience like no other! Restaurant, bar, and live entertainment… it has it all.

Ambiance

The eatery is themed as an abandoned 1920s industrial power plant, with 35-foot tall ceilings and gothic/steampunk décor. There are seven uniquely themed dining areas: The Ember Parlour, The Lab, The Patent Office, The Radio Room, Telegraph Lounge, The Tesla Lounge, and the Waterfront Patio.

[See image gallery at offstagewdw.com]

Food

When it comes down to it, the food is the most important part of the experience. The Edison crafts classic American cuisine with eccentric flair!

[See image gallery at offstagewdw.com]

Cocktails

Come for the food, stay for the drinks!

[See image gallery at offstagewdw.com]

Entertainment

The food, drinks, and atmosphere are often enough to make a dining experience enjoyable, BUT here is where The Edison shines- entertainment! While family-friendly entertainment is offered during the day, nighttime, kid free, is the best time to visit. Aerialists, dancers, magicians, stilt walkers, and more, all while you dine & enjoy drinks.

[See image gallery at offstagewdw.com]

Whether it is for a first time visit, a date night out, or drinks with friends, consider adding this extraordinary dining experience to your next visit! While reservations are not a must, they are strongly recommended. Same day reservations are not accepted. Call (407) 560-9288 or visit disneyworld.disney.go.com

Have you been to The Edison before? We would love to hear about your experience in the comment section below!

In honor of Magic Kingdom’s 50th Celebration, the Be Our Guest restaurant is featuring a limited edition “Squids Revenge” cocktail. YUP…there be octopus in that glass…a real octopus tentacle.

Essentially a Michelada mixed with beer, lime, tomato juice, spices, blue salt, it is then garnished with an octopus tentacle. Cost is $13.

The eccentric drink is located only at Magic Kingdom at Be Our Guest. “Why?” you ask…because that is the former site of the attraction 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Fun Tidbit- if you order the Squid’s Revenge, have your camera ready as there is a small light up Scuba diver that is attached to the tray when your cocktail is brought over!

Photo Credit: Danny Shuster WDW Magazine

I certainly do not want to yuck anyone’s yum, but for those less adventurous (ME!) Be Our Guest also carries a non-alcoholic blue raspberry slushy called The Nautilus. Served in a small fish bowl, it comes with a 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea glow cube and is garnished with a Swedish Fish…my kind of drink!

Disney Weddings are not just limited to the Grand Floridian Wedding Pavilion. There are four destinations (Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Aulani, and Disney Cruise Line), with 50 venue sites at Walt Disney World alone. But we are not here to talk about the endless wedding possibilities…we are here to talk about CAKE.

A team of dedicated pastry chefs work exclusively on wedding cakes to create specially designed cakes to bring a wedding to life.

There are the simple, classic designs:

A step further with a little flair or embellishment:

Then there are the mack daddy themed cakes:

It seems when it comes to cake design, if you can dream it, they can do it!

There’s a reason why Aunt Polly’s is a hidden gem, not only for its secluded location on the island, but because it is only open limited times to help with overcrowding control, which has not been an issue of late. BUT if the stars align and it is open, you must give it a try!

Aunt Polly’s dishes out only a few items but those items are said to be quite tastey, especially the Peanut Butter, Chocolate Hazelnut Spread, and Banana Sandwhich…I don’t even like peanut butter and I want to try it! There is also the famous Beck’s Buttery Biscuit BBQ Sliders (pictured below), or the refreshing root beer float.

For the full menu of Aunt Polly’s, visit Disney Food Blog here

In all honesty, probably better than the food, is the view!  You can enjoy a peaceful view of The Rivers of America preceding a spectacular view of The Haunted Mansion.

The view alone is worth a stop at Aunt Polly’s! As of now, it has not been opened for the season. Its operating hours are typically 11-3, so next time you visit Magic Kingdom, make sure to ask Cast Members! I know it will be on my radar next time I am there.
