Hiya Pals! On this day, 28 years ago, Mickey’s Toontown opened in Disneyland, California. Celebrity guest appearances for the celebration included Robin Williams, Sally Field, and Steven Spielberg. Located behind “it’s a small world”, Toontown is home to Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy.
Still open today, Toontown brings laughter and whimsy to all who visit. In celebration of this day in history, let’s take a tour!
Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin
Located at the first right, Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin is a dark ride based on the film, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?. Guests can steer a runaway taxicab through the streets of Toontown. After the ride, enjoy a stroll around Roger’s fountain. In typical Roger fashion, he is standing on top of a fire hydrant that has blown its cap.

The Jolly Trolley
Now named the Toontown Trolley, on opening day, the Jolly Trolley took guests on a merry ride throughout Toontown. Over the years, due to maintenance, the trolley has become permanently parked and is now used as a sitting area for guests. Photo Credits: Albert Lam at Disney Photoblography
Downtown
Located at the center of town, the Toontown Gazebo sits in the middle of Toontown’s Downtown. Here residents and guests will find City Hall, the Firehouse, the Library, school, Post Office, The Little Piggy Bank, and the Power House. We can’t forget to support the local businesses! Clarablle’s, a clock repair shop, Pluto’s Dog House, Goofy’s Water (literally water fountains), Daisy’s Diner, a car service shop, and The Five and Dime are also located in the busy town center.

Goofy's Playhouse
Goofy’s Playhouse begins Toontown’s residential area, and as expected, it is not an ordinary house. Originally, it was a bounce house with a size limit geared to littles. Parent’s had to wait outside! Now a walk through attraction, guests of all ages can see Goofy’s wacky garden and explore his house.
Donald's Boat
Located just past Goof’s place, guests can have a blast exploring Donald’s Boat, named the Miss Daisy. Donald sure knows how to make a grand gesture!
Minnie's House
Across from Donald’s Miss Daisy, are the homes of Minnie and Mickey. Minnie’s house is just like the owner, absolutely darling! The walk through self-guided tour gives a peek into Minnie’s picturesque life. Photo Credit: Albert Lam at DisneyPhotoblography
Mickey's House
Located next to his lovely lady, Mickey’s House is a showcase to his long and illustrious career. Also a self-guided walkthrough tour, guests have the opportunity to meet Mickey, if he happens to be home that day.
Chip 'n Dale Treehouse
Nestled between Mickey’s house and Gadget’s Go Coaster, stands Chip ‘n Dale’s fun treehouse. When it first opened, the playground had a slide, ball pit, and exploration stairs. Over the years (and many lawsuits later), the tree now serves as a simple climbing space for kids.
The Mickey Mouse Fountain is a whimsical piece that pays homage to Mickey’s days as the Sorcerer’s Apprentice. Lovely music and calming water sounds make it a soothing spot to relax!
