Disney Characters Disney Movies Easter Eggs Pixar

Finding Dory Easter Eggs

“Darn it…no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t forget you.” Finding Dory is an unforgettable film filled with laughter and love. It is also filled with some great Easter Eggs! Let’s dive on in-

A113

The infamous letter/number combination representing the classroom number at the California Institute of Arts is found in every Pixar movie!

It is found on truck destined for “the” Cleveland.

And also on the adorable sea lion pair- Rudder has A1 while Fluke has 13.

Original Nemo

Finding Dory picks up one year after finding Nemo, but in real life, there was a substantial time difference, 13 years to be exact. By that time the original Nemo voice actor was too old too reprise the role. Pixar made sure to sneak him in somewhere! Alexander Gould (yup, the kid from Weeds!) provided the voices for both transport workers.

Cars

You have to have a sharp eye to spot this subtle Cars reference!

Captain America

While Cap’ himself doesn’t make an appearance, you can find a likeness of his shield inside the truck.

Inside Out

In the movie Inside Out, Riley and her family move to San Francisco. Since The Marine Life Institute is inspired by the Monterey Bay Aquarium…which is only 2 hours south of San Fran…it would make sense she would go there! Can you spot her?

Finding Nemo

There are several Easter Eggs from the Finding Nemo movie. First up, Darla:

A model of Crush can be seen hanging outside the large tank.

Nemo’s friends: After escaping Doctor Sherman’s tank, the friends made it all the way to the Marine Life Institute. It took them a year…and we are to accept that they survived off of the algae in the bag…but that’s not the point. The point is they escaped a tank to be swooped up, “rescued”, only to be put back into a different tank…and presumably split up. Poor guys!

WALL-E

Who doesn’t love the adorable waste collector?! This is a super hard one to see, but one fan spotted a reference to the movie wayyyy off in the background when Hank is about to drop Dory into the tank. No matter how hard I tried, I would not have been able to find that one!

Pixar Shorts

There are two Pixar shorts that are referenced:

Lava was the heartwarming story of a lonely volcano that was shown before Moana.

PixarPost spotted Piper, the cutest little Sandpiper bird, a short which debuted before Dory!

Pixar

A subtly nod to the co-founder of Pixar can be seen in the hallway behind the scenes at the Institute. The posters seen in the background are showing the construction of the Steve Jobs Building located on Pixar’s Campus. The original Pixar building was renamed in Steve’s honor after his passing in 2011.

The boat that pulls Dory and Nemo’s friends out of the bay references Pixar Studios’ address: 1200 Park Avenue

And the year Pixar was incorporated: 1986

Pizza Planet

Our post would not be complete without the famous Pizza Planet truck from Toy Story! The Easter Egg Database found the poor truck on the bottom of the ocean floor! It makes us wonder if it was highjacked by toys again…

I love the treasures they sneak in throughout the movie! Which Easter Egg was your favorite? Let us know in the comment section!
